A Message...
I am Ismael Hinojosa Von Borstel. I was born in La Paz BCS, Mexico, in 1976. My maternal grandfather, Francisco Von Borstel, introduced all his grandchildren to water activities, especially diving. He had a small company of divers who harvested chocolate clams in the village called La Ventana, in front of Cerralvo Island, 30 minutes from the city of La Paz, BCS. My impression of seeing these divers and their way of life so connected to nature and hard work sparked my interest and vocation for diving from a very young age. Many years later, here we are again, remembering my grandfather, doing and sharing this activity, and for many like me, it's a way of life in the sea. This is how this small dive shop called Dive & Kite La Ventana was born, located in BCS, Mexico.
